At OLG, we are firm believers that our staff and their skills, passion and determination are what drives the Group to success. That is why OLG Support provide an essential service when it comes to training and recruiting the right people for our internal vacancies and development.

Recruitment and Selection

OLG Support is responsible for the recruitment of all staff roles within the Group. It is their duty to produce the job description and advertisement of the role, before arranging and coordinating the interview panels, collating candidates and panel information and finally completing the selection of candidates.

They are also in charge of recruiting apprentices for both internal positions and for clients.

In addition, one of OLG Support’s key tasks is to manage and check all documents and qualifications. This is essential to ensure that our candidates are the right person for the role.

Learning and Development

Giving our staff the opportunity to learn and progress in their field is of the utmost importance to the OLG. Our OLG Support staff are fundamental in this, as they help to identify training gaps and coordinate training for all departments. This includes completing costing matrixes, updating HR files and personal training files to show any new qualifications or training.

OLG Support work hard to gain funding through The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), and managing the ECITB portal.

Wellbeing

The Health and Wellbeing of all members of staff is of utmost importance to OLG. OLG Support champions mental health to all employees, the door is always open to discuss any pastoral or personal issues.

This invitation is also open to all apprentices internally and externally.

Performance Management

At OLG Support, a key responsibility is to aid various departments with performance management, employee engagement and helping managers with competencies.

Work Experience

Another key task is to organise all work experience placements within the Group. This includes communicating with parents and schools, ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete, and providing pastoral care to any work experience candidates.

Succession Planning

OLG Support personnel help all departments with planning for the future, this includes planning and training employees to undertake succession roles, appraisals, competencies and job descriptions.

HR Information Systems

In charge of updating and reconciling the HR system, OLG Support record all information about employees and any changes in personal circumstance or job role.

Data and Analytics

At OLG Support, our team are also in charge of collating reports for Directors and Heads of Department on all HR issues, absences including managing the absence line for the group and all other HR data on a regular basis.

Policies and Procedures

OLG Support are responsible for updating employment policies with any legal changes and annual changes.
