Ethics

A family-owned group

As a family-owned group of independent businesses it is important that we adhere to strict ethical standards in order to demonstrate corporate social responsibility within both the sectors and communities we operate in.

As such, our core values are based not only on our vision to grow and develop as a successful organisation, but also to provide real value to our clients and employees.

To ensure that this policy is applied practically across all OLG brands, we have established three brand values that capture the ethical trust we want to achieve for OLG.

  • AccountabilityIf it is to be, it’s up to me. Be accountable for our actions and inactions.
  • BoldWe continuously strive to use the latest research and technology to develop more efficient solutions to help our clients provide a sustainable future.
  • CultureWe appreciate diversity and encourage different opinions.

Procurement

In our approach to procuring contracts we strive to provide the best possible solution and deliver great value for every project, no matter how large or small.

Since our formation in 1982 we have procured a large number of contracts with firms in the Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Steel, Food and other sectors, all being selected for the opportunities on offer and the significance to engineering progress rather than solely for monetary gain.

This philosophy has led to us becoming partners for many respected organisations, including Centrica Storage, Phillips 66 and Novartis.

Ethical Trading

Our Code of Conduct states our policy on legislation, child labour, conditions of employment, wages and benefits, human trafficking, health and safety and environmental policy.

The OLG Code of Conduct provides a statement of our business practices and how we expect our employees to conduct themselves whilst in our employment.

We also maintain a Supplier Code of Conduct setting out how we expect our suppliers to conduct themselves and their supply chain.

If you wish to report any non-compliance or suspected violations of law and policy you may contact us directly, alternatively you can seek independent advice from the charity Protect on 020 3117 2520 or via their website https://protect-advice.org.uk/. Further guidance can be found in our Whistleblowing Policy.
